Purpose of processing

The jigger is the classic machine for wide dyeing, mainly used for traditional fabrics
of cotton. It is still today the most economical and versatile for pre-treatment, bleaching and dyeing
of fabrics with natural fibers, both at atmospheric pressure and under pressure (in an autoclave).
In the more advanced models, the tension-free treatment also allows you to dye silk fabrics and
Knitted.
The general principle of processing involves repeated passages of the fabric in a dye bath,
by transferring the cylinders placed above the tank from one to the other. The contact time between the
fabric and the bath is short, but the process is completed in the rolling and unrolling on the cylinders.

Processing technology

The machines present in the district today have numerous and interesting diversifications.
The most important elements, which are punctually found in most machines, are:
two winding and unwinding cylinders (see figure A, points 1) which, rotating in one direction
and in the other, they allow the passage of the fabric from one cylinder to another;
a motor group, mechanical or electrical, with a device that moves each cylinder in
independent way of the other to obtain the unwinding of the fabric without excessive tension;
a trapezoidal tank (fig. A, 2) containing the dyeing bath in which the fabric is soaked, equipped
by a series of small guide cylinders, for a more regular passage of the fabric;

a steam coil (fig. A, 3) placed on the bottom of the tank for heating the bath;
a pivoting spreading device (fig. A, 4), which eliminates any creases before wrapping
on cylinders;
a lid (fig. A, 5) placed on the appliance, which prevents the fabric from cooling down;
a bath circulation pump, for the perfect homogenization of the dyeing bath;
bathroom heating control device and control panel for regulation
automatic of all process parameters.
The jiggers under pressure (see figure B), in an autoclave, also dye synthetic fibers at high temperatures.

Execution of processing

The dyer:
places the previously rolled fabric on the jigger support;
at the end of the roll a cloth of 4-5 meters is already sewn in order to allow regular dyeing
of the whole fabric and to leave the machine drawn in at the end of the dyeing of the pieces being worked.
It sews the head of the roll to another sheet with the same function, which is already on the collecting cylinder.
It enters the previously prepared dye bath and adjusts its temperature.
It regulates the unwinding and winding tension by means of the electromechanical unit.
If necessary, it performs a second bath entry after the first step.
It then removes the roll of already dyed pieces, ready for the subsequent finishing processes.

Any bad results

Different shade of color between the beginning of the first piece (head) and the end of the last (tail).
Streak of different shades (usually fuller, more intense) near the selvedges, if these
they are not well placed or are thicker than the background fabric.
Moiré that can occur on light fabrics (nylon, viscose, etc.) due to the tension of
excessive rolling with respect to thickness or other parameters of the fabric or size (diameter)
of the two cylinders that make up the jigger.

Services

After the sale of the machinery we also assist you in logistics and if desired by the customer we have technicians capable of reassembling and starting the machinery.
