Purpose of processing

Rolling is the final phase of the finishing process of the fabric, in which this, finished and controlled,
it is roll-packed on cardboard tubes to be sent to the customer, with a
tag hanging on the selvedge indicating:
- the serial number of the piece,
- the name or number of the article,
- the length and weight of the piece.

Processing technology

The main parts of this machine are represented by two sliding cloth-carrying chains
in the relative guides (see figure A, point 1).
In the first part of the machine two articulated or movable guides, controlled by two electronic keypads,
guarantee a regular advancement of the fabric according to its width. In
second part chains and guides ensure the advancement of the fabric in a parallel and equidistant way,
with electronic adjustment based on the height of the finished fabric, to obtain perfect alignment
selvedges on the rolled fabric.
The folded piece passes:
through a cloth stretcher (fig. A, 2) and accompanied by the idle rollers (fig. A, 3) it reaches the
variable speed power supply (fig. A, 4).
With the help of two topstitching brushes (fig. A, 5), the fabric is pinned into the selvedge
from the pins of the two patch-holder chains. The two electronic probes, the movement of the guides and the advancement
of the two chains convey the fabric in a regular way towards the terminal part
of the machine, where:
two cylinders (fig. A, 6) which rotate at variable speeds with respect to the chain allow to obtain
rolls (fig. A, 7) more or less compact.
To eliminate any slight folding creases, the machine can be equipped with one or
several steaming tanks (fig. A, 8) and radiant batteries (fig. A, 9) for drying.
A meter counter and a scale provide the data necessary to print the identification tag
of the rolled-up piece.

Execution of processing

Once the operator has placed the piece to be rolled up on the front of the machine, he / she provides:
when loading the piece by programming the rolling height;
the possible introduction of steam on the piece;
the relative activation of the radiant group, according to the needs of the item to be rolled up;
to adjust the speed of advancement and compactness of the roller;
the arrangement of the cardboard tube on which the fabric is wound;
at the start of rolling;
extraction of the packaged roll after automatic separation from the next piece.
Finally, he completes the compilation, which can be partly automatic, of the card and notes it on the
selvedge.

Most recurring defects

Failure of the yarn right at the beginning and during rolling can lead to defects that
require reconditioning of the incorrectly rolled patch.
